Playing as a viewer
Joining the game
On a live using Bungo, open the extension panel on the video player, on desktop as well as in the Twitch mobile app. The first time, Twitch asks you to share your username: it is needed to save your points and show you on the leaderboard.
Your grid
Each player gets a 3×3 grid drawn at random from the streamer's list of events. Your grid is different from everyone else's: you are not all aiming for the same cells.
- Yellow · selecting
You picked this cell, the selection is in progress (10 seconds).
- Blue · validated by a mod
Only visible to moderators: the event has been officially validated.
- Green · validated
The cell counts toward your Bungo and earned you its points.
- Purple · hidden
An opponent hid its text with a “Shadow Veil” power.
Winning a cell
- When an event happens on the live, left-click (or tap on mobile) its cell: it turns yellow and a 10-second selection starts. You can only select one cell at a time.
- Meanwhile, the moderators officially validate the event. You don't see it on your grid: stay focused on the live!
- At the end of your selection, if a moderator validated the event, the cell turns green: you earn its points and a chest.
Predictions
Feel an event coming? Select its cell before it happens. If your selection is complete when the moderator validates it, the cell is won instantly and your chest offers 3 powers to choose from instead of 2.
Making a Bungo
Complete a row, a column or a diagonal of green cells to make a Bungo. The server double-checks your grid before confirming the win.
Chests and powers
Getting chests
- For each cell you win, if the streamer enabled this option.
- Free chests given to every player at regular intervals (every 10 minutes by default, adjustable by the streamer).
- With the legendary Chest Rain power, which gives two to everyone.
- When the streamer gives a chest to every player from their panel.
- With a winning Bet or a claimed Bounty.
When you open a chest, you choose your power from 2 offers (3 after a prediction). Each offer is drawn according to its rarity (default chances, which the streamer can change):
Three kinds of effects
- Active
- A power you trigger whenever you want: on yourself, on a player you choose, or on everyone.
- Passive
- A permanent bonus or one that triggers by itself, like a faster selection.
- Debuff
- A negative effect sent by an opponent: hidden cell, frozen grid, blocked powers… “Purge” powers remove them.
Defending yourself
Some powers protect you from sabotage: Immunity (nobody can target you), Insurance (absorbs the next debuff), Return to Sender (sends the sabotage back to its caster) and Absolute Counter (sends it to every other player).
Game modes
First Bungo
A quick round: the first player to complete a line wins and the game ends immediately.
Continuous
Each event is worth points set by the streamer. Making a Bungo doubles your points and gives you a new grid. The streamer ends the game whenever they want, and the leaderboard decides the winner (or the top 3).
At the end of the game, Bungo can announce the winner(s) in chat and show an alert on stream.
The role of moderators
Moderators validate events live: right-click a cell (or long press on mobile) to validate it officially. The cell then turns blue for moderators only: viewers don't see which events have been validated.
In the configuration, the streamer chooses:
- Who validates: the whole team (moderators and streamer) or the streamer alone.
- The powers in play: the chances of each rarity and the list of powers that can drop from chests (all enabled by default).
- The moderators' role: players and validators, or validators only (they then see the list of events instead of a grid).
Install and start a game
- In your Twitch dashboard, open Extensions, search for Bungo and install it.
- Open its configuration: add at least 9 events, choose the game mode, validation, rewards and powers in play, then save.
- Activate the extension so it shows up on your live video.
- During your live, open the Bungo panel and click “Start game”. Every viewer present gets their grid.
- Validate events as the live goes on, then click “End game” (in continuous mode) to show the leaderboard.
